A True Custom House...is different from any other house you have ever lived in or purchased. It is not a production house, built the same as many others with only slight differences. And it is not a semi-custom house, a term that has been proudly marketed, but is really no more than a house that the builder has done before but you are allowed to modify from some list of pre-designed options and upgrades. A true custom home is probably the most involved and personal process that you will ever be involved in. It is a structure comprised of tens of thousands of pieces and sometimes involving hundreds of people. And it is built for you exactly the way YOU want it. Shouldn't you choose a builder who offers the level of service that a project that important deserves.

There are basically two ways to build a custom home...

The first is to hire a architect to draw a house without really knowing how much it will cost, then give the plans to several builders and hope that they all understand exactly what it is you want them to build and that at least one will be close to what you wanted to spend.
